In-house.com offers a secure platform for employees to voice their opinions about their company anonymously and for others to learn about the company.
Our research revealed that 85% of employees have valuable insights they wish to share about their company, but fear speaking up due to the risk of termination if their identity is revealed.
In-house.com is a platform that empowers employees to share their experiences and insights about their workplace in a safe, secure, and anonymous way. The platform provides a forum for employees to share their opinions, feedback, and ideas, allowing companies to collect valuable insights and feedback from their workforce.

Improve the user experience for rating and expressing opinions about their workplace.
The implementation of ESG enables users to obtain a concise breakdown of it.

Allowing users to ask the insider community questions regarding the company.
To become a part of the community, users will need to provide answers to certain questions that only employees would be aware of, to verify their status as insiders.

Research and analysis
In-house faced financial constraints which limited their ability to conduct extensive user research. As a proposed solution, it was suggested that since many individuals were attracted to In-house due to their mission statement, all new recruits would be required to discuss their experience with their previous company and their experience with the current live website.

What the users say

Meeting with Founder and PMs
After collecting the user data, we presented it to the founder and PMs along with sketches of additional designs that we proposed to add onto what had already been created in Beta version 1.

From paper to digital
After presenting the three options to the founder and PMs, we stated that solution 3 works the best because it incorporate most of the user needs and at the same time focusing on improving the ESG. They also agree that solution 3 was the most favorable and requested that the design team produce low-fi wireframes, which were subsequently approved by them.

Conflict with Founder
The founder requested a lighter gray background color for the wireframes without a clear reason, despite the design team's efforts to emphasize the importance of accessibility. The team persisted and found optimal colors that passed QA testing, which the founder and PMs approved.

creating more then 50+ screens
Upon completion of the feed page, the founder requested that the design team create screens for all functions on the feed page, along with designs for other pages. This resulted in the creation of over 50 screens.

the component library
we spent weeks ensuring that all components in the library created by the past designers were accurately named, linked, and created. Additionally, we created new components in the library for Beta 2.

prototype
with the component library accurately created, named, and linked, we were able to create step-by-step screen designs showcasing the functions and develop a prototype showcasing them.

accomplishments
the current design is now live on in-house.com and that during the all-hands meeting this month, the founder announce that:

During my tenure at in-house.com, I collaborated with a senior product designer to create and refine components while enhancing the style guide. Our team worked closely with a product manager, project managers, founder, and developers to ensure the timely release of beta 2.
Along the way, I gained experience navigating challenging situations such as reconciling founder ideas that did not align with user needs or accessibility requirements, and persuading developers to embrace our designs.
Working in a fast-paced startup environment with quick turnarounds was a valuable learning experience.
I am proud of our team's accomplishments in a short amount of time and the opportunity to witness real users engaging with our design.
